Yesterday’s CougsFirst! Spokane Show was a moment of pride and connection for the Washington State University (WSU) alums and supporters. It was more than just a gathering—it was the perfect platform to unveil Believe in Me’s exciting new program, Cougs4Kids. CougsFirst!, a robust network promoting WSU-affiliated businesses, provides alumni and friends with a unique opportunity to “Think CougsFirst!” and support fellow Cougs. The show’s vibrant atmosphere was ideal for launching Cougs4Kids. This program that combines community impact with opportunities for WSU student-athletes to inspire, empower, and lead.
What Is Cougs4Kids?
Cougs4Kids is an initiative that empowers WSU student-athletes to impact the lives of marginalized youth in lasting, meaningful ways. More than a standard NIL program, Cougs4Kids offers athletes the chance to build their personal brands and leadership skills while making a real difference in the community. At the heart of this effort is the Cougar Collective, the pioneers and champions of NIL for WSU student-athletes. Founded by a group of passionate Cougs, the Cougar Collective creates pathways for athletes to connect with boosters, business owners, and community members. Their support has empowered athletes to reach their potential by providing resources, opportunities, and a platform to shine.
Without the Cougar Collective’s visionary work, Cougs4Kids wouldn’t be possible. Believe in Me is honored to work alongside them, offering a 501(c)(3) structure to make donations tax-deductible. This gives WSU alums, fans, and friends a unique way to simultaneously support student-athletes and youth empowerment.
Through flexible giving options, like our Cougar Impact Society, everyone can contribute to Cougs4Kids while enjoying exclusive WSU athletics perks, such as VIP event access and athlete meet-and-greets.
CougsFirst! Spokane Show: An Electric Environment for Connection and Impact
At the CougsFirst! Spokane Show, we connected with passionate alums, showcasing the purpose and potential of Cougs4Kids. The response was overwhelming as we engaged with WSU fans, alums, and fellow supporters. The program resonates deeply with those who recognize the power of mentorship and the difference one person can make in a young person’s life.
To further celebrate our community, we gave away three exclusive gift baskets filled with items generously donated by our steadfast supporters: DryFly Distilling, Village Centre Cinemas, Flatstick Pub, Banner Bank, and Mystique Salon.
Throughout the day, our booth attracted Cougs interested in learning how their support could contribute to WSU’s athletic success and youth empowerment. With interactive presentations and stories highlighting the student-athletes involved in Cougs4Kids, visitors saw firsthand the heart of the program.
