Summary
Believe in Me is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth—particularly those who are marginalized or first-generation—by removing barriers to education, fostering opportunity, and building pathways to long-term success. Through our programs, including iLevelUP and Cougs4Kids, we support students with mentorship, access to education, community engagement, and innovative tools that help turn potential into achievement.
Volunteers play a vital role in advancing this mission by contributing time, skills, and energy to support youth empowerment, education equity, and community-centered initiatives. This role offers flexible opportunities to assist with programs, events, outreach, operations, and digital initiatives based on organizational needs and volunteer interests.
Skills
Volunteers should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, a collaborative and reliable work style, and a willingness to learn. Comfort with basic technology such as email, video conferencing, and shared documents is expected. Organizational skills, adaptability, and an interest in education, youth development, or community service are highly valued. Specialized skills—such as mentoring, event support, marketing, design, or administrative assistance—are welcome but not required.
Qualifications
Volunteers must demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and alignment with organizational values of equity, inclusion, and integrity. Prior volunteer or nonprofit experience is beneficial but not required.
Requirements
To ensure the safety and effectiveness of our programs, all volunteers must meet the following requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must successfully complete a background check
- Must provide a valid U.S. passport or state-issued driver’s license
- Must commit to a minimum of 10 volunteer hours per month
- Must be willing to make a minimum one-year commitment
