Board Responsibilities

• Ensure that Believe in Me conforms with all legal requirements of the State of Washington as a nonprofit corporation.
• Adopt Policies & Procedures that are directly related to the mission of Believe in Me.
• Ensure the ongoing development plan & evaluation of the Foundation.
• Serve as ambassadors on behalf of Believe in Me, representing key constituents to the Foundation and representing Believe in Me to its constituents.
• Secure adequate financial resources and ensure stewardship of the Foundations’ resources.
• Evaluate the annual budget for Believe in Me.
• To evaluate its own composition and performance and recommend new members for the Foundation.

Individual Responsibilities of Foundation Board Members

Each member of the Foundation Board of Directors shall be expected to be a member of one of the standing committees, to participate fully in the committee’s work, and to attend three meetings of the Board, unless excused by the Chair of the Board.

Additionally, it is expected that the Members will:

• Promise annual gift to Foundation.

• Provide feedback to Believe in Me from key constituents.

• Assist in identifying, involving, and soliciting new, key constituents for the Foundation.

• File an annual conflict of interest statement.
